Manually Replacing Cluster Nodes

Manually replace nodes Big Data Service for cluster master, utility, and Edge nodes from the Node details page.

Note

You can replace active and failed nodes.

1. On the Clusters list page, select the cluster that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page or the cluster, see Listing Clusters in a Compartment.
2. On the Cluster details page, select the Actions menu.
3. Select Replace node.
4. In the Replace node panel,
  Enter the Node host name.
  Select the Node backup.
  Select the node shape in the Choose node shape field.
  Enter the Cluster admin password.
5. Select Replace.

  If you replace an active Ambari node (un0), the Ambari node is moved to a standby node (un1).
6. After node replacement is successful, sign in to Ambari and verify the health of services. Then, restart the services that are flagged for stale configuration.
Use the replace-node command and required parameters to manually replace cluster nodes.
