Managing Updates for Big Data Service

Beginning with Big Data Service 3.0.28.2 or later, you can manage Big Data Service updates from the Cluster details page.

To automatically be notified of available Big Data Service updates, subscribe to automated update announcements. You can also create announcement subscriptions and filters. For more information, see Console Announcements.

When subscribing to Big Data Service announcements, watch for several types of notifications, including:

  • Node termination notification
  • Software Update notification
  • OCI certification renewal notification
  • OCI certification expiry notification
  • CP-DP certification expiry notification

After you receive a software update notification, you have 18 days to schedule a patch for the cluster. If you don't schedule a patch within 18 days, Big Data Service automatically updates the cluster.
