Add a MySQL DB System to a Disaster Recovery Protection Group

Learn how to add a MySQL DB System to a Disaster Recovery (DR) Protection Group.

  1. From the Resource type menu, select MySQL DB System.
  2. Select a Database system to add from the list of Database systems in your compartment.
  3. In Configuration, enter the following information:
    • Select the Peer Database System and compartment.
      Note

      This option is available only when you select the Peer region or when you associate the Disaster Recovery (DR) Protection Groups.
    • Enter the Reconciliation timeout in seconds: You can increase or decrease the timeout by using the arrows.
    • Select the toggle to Continue on reconciliation timeout: In case the timeout is breached and if you want to skip the validation, enable this option so that the switchover or failover does not fail.
  4. In the Database credentials:
    • Enter the Administrator username.
    • Select a compartment and the Administrator password secret.
    • Enter a Replication username.
    • Select a compartment and the Replication password secret.
  5. If prompted, accept the warning that adding or removing members requires you to refresh and verify all existing plans in the protection group.
  6. Click Add to add the MySQL DB System to the DR Protection Group.
    The MySQL DB System is added to the DR Protection Group.
