  • Adds support for diagnostic NMI-induced crash kernel generation on unresponsive VM instances. For more information, including how to configure the OS to generate a crash dump, see Sending a Diagnostic Interrupt.
  • Improves diagnostic and debugging data collection by installing the following diagnostic packages:

  • Changes the OSWatcher log location to /var/oled/oswatcher.
  • Changes the default directory for kernel core dumps to /var/oled/crash.
  • Renames existing /var/crash LVM partition to /var/oled.
  • Retains the size of the /var/crash partition at the previously configured size of 10GB.

Security and Compliance

Oracle Linux platform images are based on the most recent release of Oracle Linux and are updated monthly. If you need to confirm the status of certifications, such as FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria, see the Oracle Security Evaluations page for the latest information. FIPS mode is not enabled in Oracle Linux platform images. To modify this setting, see the FIPS section of the Oracle Linux Security Guide under Oracle Linux documentation or contact support for assistance.
