Note

Oracle Linux Extended Support for Oracle Linux 6 ended on December 31, 2024. Oracle Linux 6 has moved to Sustaining Support. For more information, see Lifetime Support Policy.

This release includes the following changes:

  • Security configuration updated to remove access policies added to image released on December 18, 2017.
  • Includes dependencies for cloud-utils-growpart to enable partition extension. A reboot is required to enable.
  • Includes init script enabling yum mirror mappings to local regions to work across snapshots from different regions.
  • Includes fixes to improve iSCSI attachment stability.
  • Includes kernel update with retpoline mitigation for issue described in CVE-2017-5715.

Security and Compliance

Oracle Linux platform images are based on the most recent release of Oracle Linux and are updated monthly. If you need to confirm the status of certifications, such as FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria, see the Oracle Security Evaluations page for the latest information. FIPS mode is not enabled in Oracle Linux platform images. To modify this setting, see the FIPS section of the Oracle Linux Security Guide under Oracle Linux documentation or contact support for assistance.
