- Installs the
mysql-release-el8release package and enables the relevant MySQL channels. -
Known Issue: The boot time for bare metal (BM) shapes is slower in the Oracle Linux 8.3 image compared to the Oracle Linux 8.2 image. This issue is a result of the network scripts being modified to work through the NetworkManager utility causing delays in the system network adapters obtaining proper DHCP settings.
Workaround: The Oracle Linux 8.3 image has been reverted to use the legacy network scripts until the root cause is resolved.

Security and Compliance
Oracle Linux platform images are based on the most recent release of Oracle Linux and are updated monthly. If you need to confirm the status of certifications, such as FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria, see the Oracle Security Evaluations page for the latest information. FIPS mode is not enabled in Oracle Linux platform images. To modify this setting, see the FIPS section of the Oracle Linux Security Guide under Oracle Linux documentation or contact support for assistance.
