Analyze I/O Trend Over Time

To view I/O activity across all Ops Insights-enabled databases, click I/O under Databases in the left navigation menu.

Note

I/O monitoring applies only to external and Autonomous AI Databases, except Autonomous AI Database Serverless.

By default, you view comprehensive I/O activity for each database. Viewing the I/O activity for each database lets you compare resource utilization between databases and identify servers with underused or overused resources. For each database, you view the following:

  • Database Types
    • LH-D: Autonomous AI Lakehouse Dedicated
    • LH-S: Autonomous AI Lakehouse Serverless (I/O metrics are not available)
    • LH-C@C: Autonomous AI Lakehouse - Dedicated on Cloud@Customer
    • External LH: External Autonomous AI Lakehouse
    • ATP-D: Autonomous AI Transaction Processing Dedicated
    • ATP-S: Autonomous AI Transaction Processing Serverless (I/O metrics are not available)
    • ATP-C@C: Autonomous AI Transaction Processing - Dedicated on Cloud@Customer
    • External ATP: External Autonomous AI Transaction Processing
    • AJD-D: Autonomous AI JSON Database Dedicated
    • AJD-S: Autonomous AI JSON Database Serverless (I/O metrics are not available)
    • AJD-C@C: Autonomous AI JSON Database - Dedicated on Cloud@Customer
    • APEX-D: Autonomous AI Database for APEX Dedicated
    • APEX-S: Autonomous AI Database for APEX Serverless (I/O metrics are not available)
    • APEX-C@C: Autonomous AI Database for APEX - Dedicated on Cloud@Customer

    • External PDB: External Pluggable Database

    • MySQL Database: MySQL HeatWave Database Services and external MySQL Database Systems
    Note

    ExaDBs monitored by Enterprise Manager are also allowed.
  • Usage change (%): Percentage change in the linear trend of I/O usage over the selected time period.
  • Usage (MB/sec): 90th percentile value of the daily average I/O usage over the selected time period.
  • Database version: Version of the Oracle Database.
  • Telemetry: The source platform of the database: Cloud Infrastructure, Enterprise Manager, or Agent Service
  • Instances: The number of instances. Click on the instance number to display a list of the instance and host names.
