Note

On January 1, 2025, Oracle Linux 7 moved from Premier to Extended Support. Oracle Cloud customers using Oracle Linux are entitled to both Premier Support and Extended Support (when offered). For more information about the Extended Support program, see Oracle Linux Extended Support.

  • Includes all OS updates as of March 2021.
  • Includes mitigations for CVE-2021-27363, CVE-2021-27364, CVE-2021-27365, CVE-2021-26930, CVE-2021-26931, CVE-2021-26932, CVE-2021-3348, CVE-2021-3347 and CVE-2020-16120.
  • Includes grub2 mitagations for CVE-2020-14372, CVE-2020-25632, CVE-2020-25647, CVE-2020-27749, CVE-2020-27779, CVE-2021-20225 and CVE-2021-20233.
  • Updates the oraclelinux-release-el7 package to resolve the handling of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure specific repositories in container environments.
  • Changes the default location in /etc/kdump.conf where the crash dump is saved from /var/oled/crash to /var/crash.

Security and Compliance

Oracle Linux platform images are based on the most recent release of Oracle Linux and are updated monthly. If you need to confirm the status of certifications, such as FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria, see the Oracle Security Evaluations page for the latest information. FIPS mode is not enabled in Oracle Linux platform images. To modify this setting, see the FIPS section of the Oracle Linux Security Guide under Oracle Linux documentation or contact support for assistance.
