Note

On January 1, 2025, Oracle Linux 7 moved from Premier to Extended Support. Oracle Cloud customers using Oracle Linux are entitled to both Premier Support and Extended Support (when offered). For more information about the Extended Support program, see Oracle Linux Extended Support.

  • Includes fixes in iscsi-initiator-utils that do the following:
    • Modify the iscsi-mark-root-nodes script to only update node.startup to onboot for iSCSI sessions that are active during boot. Add pre RPM scriptlet to fix a bug in previous version of iscsi-mark-root-nodes.
    • Print vital iscsid connection and session messages on console using the rsyslog facility.
  • Ksplice user_update_repo_url added to /etc/uptrack/uptrack.conf.

Note: Do not configure the SELinux policy type to be Minimum. You can configure SELinux to implement the Targeted Policy or the Multilevel Security Policy. For more information, see https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E52668_01/E54669/html/ol7-pol-selinux.html.

Security and Compliance

Oracle Linux platform images are based on the most recent release of Oracle Linux and are updated monthly. If you need to confirm the status of certifications, such as FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria, see the Oracle Security Evaluations page for the latest information. FIPS mode is not enabled in Oracle Linux platform images. To modify this setting, see the FIPS section of the Oracle Linux Security Guide under Oracle Linux documentation or contact support for assistance.

For other operating systems, check with your vendor for more information.
