Note

On January 1, 2025, Oracle Linux 7 moved from Premier to Extended Support. Oracle Cloud customers using Oracle Linux are entitled to both Premier Support and Extended Support (when offered). For more information about the Extended Support program, see Oracle Linux Extended Support.

  • Includes security fixes for CVE-2018-3615, CVE-2018-3620, and CVE-2018-3646. See the Oracle Cloud Security Response to Intel L1TF Vulnerabilities for details.

  • The cloud-utils-growpart package is included in the image. To grow the boot partition to fill the whole boot volume, edit /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg, and it will automatically resize the boot volume on reboot.

Security and Compliance

Oracle Linux platform images are based on the most recent release of Oracle Linux and are updated monthly. If you need to confirm the status of certifications, such as FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria, see the Oracle Security Evaluations page for the latest information. FIPS mode is not enabled in Oracle Linux platform images. To modify this setting, see the FIPS section of the Oracle Linux Security Guide under Oracle Linux documentation or contact support for assistance.
