OpenSearch Version 3.2 Support

OCI Search with OpenSearch now supports OpenSearch version 3.2, bringing advanced AI/ML capabilities, performance improvements, and expanded functionality for search and analytics workloads.

OpenSearch 3.2 builds on the 3.x series with Apache Lucene 10-based improvements, including optimized vector indexing, smaller index sizes, improved CPU and storage efficiency, and vector quantization enhancements. It also includes expanded GPU support, improvements to search approximation, and generally available Protobuf support.

You can create new clusters with OpenSearch 3.2 or upgrade eligible existing OpenSearch clusters to use the latest supported capabilities. For more information, see Upgrading Search with OpenSearch Cluster Software.
